While Erin prefers the warm comforts of gin or wine, my drink of choice (at least seven times out of every ten) is a beer. In the last few years, I’ve become a big fan of micro-brews and craft beers, which is why this recent article in New York Magazine about the hobby of home-brewing caught my eye. Looks like there are more than a few craft brewers offering workshops about how you can create a brew right in your apartment or home.
This seems great! But also slightly terrifying! Great because I like making things, but terrifying because what if it comes out good? What if I don’t even have to leave the house to get a decent drink ever again? I’m sure I don’t have to explain to you the ramifications of such a dilemma. I’m putting this in the “things I might do” pile. For those who have an easier time getting out of their pajamas (I have been known to spend entire weekends in them) – I encourage you to try and report back!

This is so cute! I’m going to make one ASAP…and this might be everyone’s birthday present for the next year.
I just realized I commented under the wrong one…while I too love beer I didn’t mean to call it “cute” and can’t afford a micro brew kit for everyone…I was referring to the wine rivet.
Lia, were you inspired by me for this one? I made my first batch as soon as I got home from new years, its called Fat Man Porter. Delicious. Perhaps i will ship a couple bottles to you and GC…
Chad, you should know that you always inspire me! I am also always happy to accept free beer. You know this.
Hey Jess – we’re just glad you’re reading.
Yay! I made it on YayDIY! This may inspire me to get more crafty and share =) I love this website!…the only thing it needs is a DIYdesserts section…*hint hint* *ahem* *pointing to myself* =D
