I can’t believe after all this time it will be over come Sunday. For those of you who know what I’m talking about, I know you feel my pain.  No matter how crazy some of these episodes were this season, LOST is still, hands-down, one of my most favorite TV shows ever. It had everything a good TV should: suspense (what was more suspenseful than the Others in seasons 1 and 2?!), love triangles (you know where I stand: Team Juliet), the classic villain (Ben, then Locke), mystery (How did polar bears get on that Island? And who WAS Illana?), the loveable character (Hurley), and, of course, eye candy (of which, there was plenty: Syaid, Sawyer, Jack, Kate, Jin…)

To commence the series we’re committed to having one last Lost-themed party, complete with Dharma Initiative beer and wine, and a variety of food to represent the different seasons, our favorite characters, and some of our favorite scenes.

Planning your own party? Here are some of our ideas.  I’m going to share them with you, but only if you’ll share with us (comments, comments) what you are planning to make!

  • Pay homage to Jacob and the man in black with classic Black & White cookies. (thanks, Wendy, for the idea!) It can also be a throwback to the Walt-Locke checkers game in season 1.
  •  Say goodbye to Sun and Jin one final time by eating a 5-Dollar Foot Loooooooongs to remember the fateful sub.  If Subway’s not your thing, get some fresh bread from the store and a collection of delicious meats and cheeses from your grocery store’s deli; have a make-your-own-sub bar for your guests.

  • Pulled pork. You know if the Losties had BBQ sauce they’d have been slathering it all over that wild boar.  Then again, they did have just about everything in that magical hatch…
  • And speaking of the hatch, to represent Hurley hoarding food from the hatch, make peanut butt cookies, in reference to the jar of peanut butter he ate.
  • Or, order some fried chicken (or make you own, even better!) and print out a few Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack pictures.  Tape these over the colonel’s head on the bucket before you head over to your LOST party.  Or, get inspired by the Mr. Cluck’s Outback Roasters TV commercial that we saw Hugo in, and grill up some chicken covered in spices.  Just like the commercial, serve with corn on the cob and mashed potatoes.
  • Serve Whiskey.  Find a McCutheon’s label, and serve it straight.  (If anyone can find a label, can you leave the link in the comments? THANKS!)
  • And finally, let us not forget Jin and his fish.  Grill it or broil it, with a little lemon and it’ll be like you’re right next to their campsite on the Island.  Serve with some homemade mango salsa, one of the group’s favorite fruits.

If you’re looking for printable Dharma initiative labels, visit our previous post here. And don’t forget the cupcakes we posted here.

Enjoy the show, and please leave us a comment and tell us what you’ll be making!
