If you’re in the tri-state area and still searching for somewhere to take advantage of the long weekend, look no further than Kelder Farms in Kerhonksen, New York. A working farm, a U-Pick farm and even a small petting zoo ensures there is something for everyone…but the best part of the farm for me was the taste-and-play Mini Golf.
Yes, trust me and GC to find the fun and games in the middle of a farm…but I promise, the folks at Kelder’s want you to play as you eat. In between each of the ten holes (my guess is they shortened it knowing how slow it goes when you’re stopping to snack on the vegetation) are planters and patches with edible herbs, spices and even a strawberry patch that was just ripening around Hole 9. (We took a little longer here, as you might imagine.)
After the jump, some photos of the fun and snacks we found at Kelder’s!

This is cool – how do you get there?
Hey Caryn, we kind of just wound up there. Let me look into the specific directions and I will post them!
Hey, I visited Kelder’s Farm in October 2010 together with my mother, my sister and my brother-in-law. We found the farm just by chance while driving through the county heading towards Bethel (NY), the place of the famous Woodstock Music Festival (we are all from Germany and took a 3-weeks East Coast vacation at this time). The farm was really cool, especially the farm market with it’s tasty food. And you two girls are right: If you have some spare time and you’re living in NYC, just grab your car keys and your guys, drive to Kelder’s Farm and spend a really nice day there
Hey Christian, that’s awesome! That’s more or less how we found it too, it’s such a cute little place to spend an afternoon!
