Well, swoon you guys. After we ran our first Why I Craft article with Nikki, in Stitches, we reached out to the tireless Amy Anderson to see if she might be interested/available to do the next one. Not only does Amy run the awesome blog Mod Podge Rocks, but she also does a lot for the craft community through Crafterminds, a collective that aims to help crafters make a business of their hobby.
To our great surprise, and proving beyond a doubt that she’s indefatigable, she got back to us right away! We’re so happy to share the reasons Amy crafts. She writes:
I enjoy having a finished item to be proud of. Remember when you were a child and you showed your mother what you did, saying “I made this?” I still love that feeling. Not only that, but it’s an outlet. If I’m sad or just need to express myself, there is always something to make. What else can I do with all of those ideas running around in my head? Finally, I love the the sharing aspect of creating. Some of my favorite people are those I have met through my blog and just being online. I’m just a speck in a huge world of creativity, and I’m happy to do my part in contributing. At least as much as I can!
Isn’t that great? To see all of Amy’s great ideas, as well as her business advice, find her on Facebook here, Twitter here and YouTube here (have we mentioned she stays busy?)

Thanks for the feature ladies! xo
our pleasure!!! thank you!
I LOVE Amy’s blog. Partly because I’m a mod podge fanatic, but mostly because of her attitude and the things she creates. I also love how she introduces me to tons of other crafters out there…but I must admit, my ‘follow’ list is getting quite long thanks to her. There’s just so many awesome ladies out there, doing what I love most! Thanks Amy! And I love your reason for crafting, it’s one of mine too “I made it!!”
Popped over from Amy’s …making my daily visit to MPR! Great feature on such an inspirational ( and energetic) crafter and blogger!
I love Amy’s blog, there’s always a new idea to try my luck at, and if I didn’t Mod Podge something, my family might think somethings wrong with me.
